jonathan casey

vocals, guitars, keyboards

Hunched over the keys of a piano for most of his adolescence, Jonathan spent his formative years learning music by trial and error. He began haphazardly composing at 15 and joined a clatter of young rock groups and cover bands in the following years, introducing him to all the usual Dublin rock venues. In the meantime, he took up the guitar, the saxophone, and operatic singing, much to the chagrin of his neighbours.
In 2000, Jonathan finally managed to assemble the necessary personnel for a solo band, to perform his songs live. He took on the stage name Arch Stanton and began to tread the boards.
In the meantime, Jonathan has worked on projects with David Cross (ex-King Crimson violinist), Giordai Ui Laoighaire (ex-Nine Wassies from Bainne & Microdisney), Dave Lacey (ex-Pet Lamb, Decal), Joyce (ex-All Eyes and Ears) and mrnorth.

colin sullivan

guitars, backing vocals

A stately, ubiquitous presence on the Dublin scene, Colin has been playing guitar and engineering for 16 years. He is a guru of sound technology, a master of e-bow technique, a diplomat and a class clown in all situations. You will most likely find him in situ behind the counter of Musician Inc.
It was Colin and Jonathan's shared interests in progressive music that first brought them together, in the experimental band, Magnum Opus. When Jonathan set-up his own band, Colin graciously agreed to join. Whether in the acoustic or electric band, originals and covers, recording and mixing, the two continue to work, gig and drink together, customising plans to take over the world.

roger kelly

bass

I don't have a biog from Roger yet, so... I'm going to make one up. 10 years ago to this very day, five brothers arrived in Hong Kong on the Pan-Am red-eye - The Kellys. They had but one resolute aim - find Su-Ying Lo, underground drug warlord and head of the Kubai - and avenge the death of their mother, inventor of the 5 Knives martial art. As planned, they took a rickshaw to the Wu-Lee Tea Rooms, only to find their contact, Hung Fat, murdered! This could only be the work of the Kubai! Suddenly, 20 masked fighters stream in through all exits - facing off the brothers. The man who was dubbing the voice of the youngest brother, Roger, said, "...18, 19, 20. Four fighters each, huh? Yeah! Looks like it's time for my breakfast - whoop-ass soup! FIGHT!".

Roger also plays in Pinion.

So Roger, send me your biog, or this is it!

dave shorten

drums

Clattering his left-handed kit with violent precision, David has made his presence known on both sides of the Atlantic, playing with a long list of groups, both covers and originals. He acted as stuntdrummer for a couple of dates with the Arch Stanton band in 2002 - and returned to take on the role permanently in 2003. He is an oracle on high-high-high-fidelity sound and ultra-sharp turntables that cost tens of thousands of euro. And - his identical twin is a legend in his own right; holding court on the drum throne... of the globe-straddling Snakes of Desire.
